What I’m Rooted In: The Casa Sorella Pillars

Everything that Casa Sorella is built upon comes back to six core pillars: Community, Wholeness, Ritual, Rebellion, Healing, Practice. These aren’t just ideas - they’re the foundation of who I am and what this place represents. Each pillar holds meaning, guiding how we move, connect, and grow together. They remind us that strength and grace can coexist, that discipline can become devotion, and that belonging begins within.

Community- To belong, to be held, to rise together. It’s something that we fall into without knowing, if we’re lucky. Or we search for it our whole lives, hoping to find one that lasts. Maybe we find many, praying they don’t vanish; maybe we never quite understand why we don’t fit in. If you’re anything like me, you’ve experienced it all. Good communities accept us, give us purpose, hold us accountable, and grow with us. At Casa Sorella, community is where we’re seen and supported — never alone in our rise.

Wholeness- To be whole: seen fully, cared for deeply, and honored completely. How good it feels to be who you are in a space full of love and respect. Women shouldn’t hold back or leave a part of themselves behind when they walk into a space. We should walk tall, feeling complete in ourselves. As important as all of these pillars are, there’s something about this one that I really cherish, maybe it’s my heart longing for every person to be valued and heard. In this space, you can bring your whole self.

Ritual- Through ritual we find rhythm, grounding, and purpose in movement. When setting out to see progress, growth, or improvements- rituals are essential for success. Finding rhythm in the daily tasks that add up to an overarching goal, will create consistency that’s hard to break. Rituals are more than routines, they carry a sacred meaning - they are to shift the focus and better oneself. Through ritual, we transform discipline into devotion - turning effort into something sacred.

Rebellion- To push back against burnout, to break free of limits, to claim our own truth. Our worth isn’t found in society’s expectations or limiting beliefs of what women can or should do. As our ancestors fought and paved their way for us, we continue to do the work, for ourselves and for those who come after. We hold our own expectations of what being a woman means. We don’t burn out because we have a community to lean on. We don’t burnout because we know the importance of being intentional - in our rest, our strength, and our boundaries.

Healing- To mend, to restore, to begin again. Healing is never linear; it’s sensitive, difficult, and complex. To fully heal we must face what needs tending, even when it’s uncomfortable. Surrounded by the right community, the process becomes softer, safer, and more possible. Healing is not just about recovery; it’s about remembering who you are underneath it all.

Practice- To move intentionally, to show up consistently, to honor the process. The bridge between who we are and who we’re becoming. We embody the work through repetition, patience, and presence. We don’t chase perfection; we build devotion. We move, breathe, and return again and again, trusting that each small effort shapes something lasting.

Each pillar stands on its own, yet together they form the essence of Casa Sorella — a space built on intention, connection, and continual becoming. This is the foundation we return to again and again: strength woven with grace, devotion rooted in freedom, and the reminder that we rise best when we rise together.
